The best operating system (to suite VDMX) so far proved to be Windows 2000. However, you will not see Windows 2000 for much longer around. Especially if you buy a new computer, there will be no Windows 2000 available to you. So, you will have to leave with whatever operating system available for the moment being. However, the main thing is that you optimize the system by disabling a lot of unwanted features. We strongly recommend to read entire 'FAQ - Optimizing the system' section.
